A mixed container lets you buy many toy categories from many factories in one shipment. LeTin Toys consolidates plush, squishy, RC, educational, summer and seasonal toys from across the Chenghai cluster in Shantou into one 20ft, 40ft or 40HQ container with one invoice and one set of export documents. Minimums start at 1–5 cartons per SKU, a 20ft container can carry 200+ SKUs, and LCL works for trial orders.
A single toy factory makes its own moulds and little else, so an assortment bought factory-direct means coordinating six or more suppliers, six sets of documents and six sets of QC. A trading company inside the cluster buys across factories and loads everything together.
| Single factory | Chenghai trading company | |
|---|---|---|
| Range | Its own moulds only | Cross-factory, whole cluster |
| Mixed container | Rarely possible | Standard |
| Unit price on one deep SKU | Usually lower | Slightly higher |
| Consolidation, QC, one invoice | You coordinate | Handled |
If you are ordering 50,000 pieces of one item, go direct to a factory: you will win on price and you do not need us. If you are building an assortment, the coordination cost of managing several factories usually exceeds the margin you would save.
A 40HQ gives roughly 68 CBM of usable space; a 20ft gives a little under half that. Toy freight is charged by volume, so you hit the space limit long before the weight limit. If a 40HQ costs USD 2,600 to ship and you load 60 CBM, freight is about USD 43 per CBM, which is why two orders at the same unit prices can land 15–20% apart on packing efficiency alone.
A 20ft container across three or four categories is the practical entry point. Most first orders we handle are one 40HQ across four to six categories.
How each category behaves in a container
| Category | Volume behaviour | How experienced buyers use it |
|---|---|---|
| Inflatables (deflated) | Compress hard | Filler that rides along with dense cartons at near-zero extra freight |
| Micro building blocks | Very dense | Anchor cargo; pairs well with bulky play sets |
| Diecast and friction vehicles | Dense | Same role as blocks |
| Large play sets, ride-ons | Volume-hungry | Cap these or they consume the container |
| Plush | Bulky, light | Ask about compressed packing before assuming the carton spec |
Per-SKU minimums in Chenghai run 120–360 pieces for battery-operated and RC toys, 120–500 for educational and STEM, 180–500 for vinyl dolls, 300–600 for plush and 500–1,000 per design for inflatables. In a mixed container these floors drop, because factories price on the total value of your order rather than on any single SKU. Buyers committing a full 40HQ across four or five categories are routinely quoted below the standard bands. Background: toy MOQ explained.
Payment is normally 30% deposit and 70% before shipment by T/T; on first orders some buyers pay the balance against a copy of the bill of lading.
Use our 40HQ assortment template, the CBM and container loading guide, and the landed cost breakdown to size the order before you ask for quotes.
